East Coast? West Coast? The Dirty South? M. C. Hammer? Snoop Dog? Salt n' Peppa? Who's the baddest-ass Rapper of all time? My vote goes to Dr. Suess. You can't read one of his books aloud to a child without falling into a sing-song, Rap-like cadence. Yeah, Suess was so Def! OK now, polish your bling-bling, close your eyes, clear your mind and Rap along with Horton Hears a Who:
It isn't fair, It isn't right, The Whos in Whoville, Making noises all night!
This is vintage Suess. What astute social commentaries Suess leaves us. Obviously, the Whos represent those elements of society that have ignored the rights of others. Few people know that Green Eggs and Ham is a criticism of the pagan practice of coloring Easter Eggs. Since this is a family blog, we won't even get into the sexual connotations of The Cat in the Hat!
Yes, Suess' body of work should land him in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
SEUSS ROCKS! I don't think you're going to get much disagreement on this one TV. My favorite is Yertle the Turtle. I still feel for the little guy at the bottom of the pile. Social commentary, you bet! Does anybody remember the Bread and Butter Wars?
